Yesterday I had my first “big” appt with
Cool Springs, where they give me the booklet and the Rx. I had to go a couple
times for different tests, but this was the first time for counseling.
For one thing, they are super nice there. I’m sick
to death of doctor’s office employees who seem incompetent or rude, and they
seem very kind and confident. I like that so much.
The main Nurse Prac lady went over my labs with
me, and overall they are good but I actually AM almost pre-diabetic, so that
contradicts what the other place said this year. I just need ALL the info, you
know, so I can be real honest with myself. I tried to be very honest about my
eating habits, etc. on all of the questions they asked me. I noticed that I
answer “bread” to most questions, LOL.
Basically, they took photos (I should have worn
more slimming clothes, lol, I had on a frumpy but super warm sweatshirt), gave
me a B12 shot, and then gave me the first pages of my little notebook with some
ideas and directions. They gave me phentermine for 1 week, and also I got some
Vit D cause I am still super low on that.
Of course, I don’t have all the stuff on the ‘sample
menu’, and I have my part 2 of root canal tomorrow, so my plan is to take the
meds, do the best I can with the food I have now for today and tomorrow, and
really plan out my menu when I have time to make a list and do shopping either
Fri night or Sat. There’s nothing I can’t eat, and there’s not a lot of rules
other than low cal and low carb. To start, it is REALLY low cal, 900 a day. I
have never done that, so I’m a bit scared.
The tracker is a paper book they gave me, but
they said I can also do My Fitness Pal, which I have done before and really
like because I can do on my phone or computer or iPad.
I hope I can at least make a dent in my issue,
mainly for health. Of course I would
like to lose so much and need all new clothes, but mainly just don’t want to
get old and can’t bend over to tie my shoes. LOL J
